Looking for a Zoho People partner in the UK to set up, customise, migrate and support your HR system?
Datahikes helps UK businesses implement Zoho People around their existing HR processes. We can assist with employee records, leave management, attendance, timesheets, onboarding, performance management, employee self-service, reporting and third-party integrations.
If you are evaluating Zoho People against BambooHR or Personio, migrating off Breathe HR or a spreadsheet, or you already run Zoho People and need it to work properly, this page is written to help you decide.
We work with businesses across London, Manchester, Birmingham and other locations across the UK.
We are an AI-first delivery team. Our UK implementations complete in 3 to 5 weeks rather than the 3 to 6 months that traditional HRMS projects run to.

Zoho People is a cloud HR management system that holds employee records, automates leave and attendance, runs onboarding and offboarding workflows, manages performance cycles, and connects HR data to payroll from a single platform. For UK employers the reason it keeps winning shortlists in 2026 comes down to three things: cost, configurability, and the fact that it sits alongside the tools UK businesses already run, including Zoho CRM and Zoho Books.
The trade-off is honest and worth stating. Zoho People is more configurable than it is opinionated. Out of the box it does not know what the Working Time Regulations 1998 say about holiday entitlement, it does not have a Bradford Factor threshold set for you, and it does not arrive knowing your bank holiday calendar differs between England and Wales, Scotland, and Northern Ireland. Configuration is the work. That is precisely what a Zoho People partner in UK is for.
We configure your organisation structure, employee profiles, departments, locations, roles, permissions and HR workflows based on your requirements.
Moving from spreadsheets or another HR platform? We can review your existing employee data, map fields to Zoho People, clean the data and assist with the migration.
Set up leave policies, holiday calendars, attendance rules, shifts, overtime, timesheets and approval workflows for your UK workforce.
Create onboarding workflows for new starters, assign tasks, collect employee information and manage required documents from one HR system.
Configure goals, KRAs, appraisals, reviews and performance workflows to match how your organisation manages employee performance.
Build reports and dashboards for employee data, attendance, leave, timesheets, workforce information and other HR requirements.
Leave is approved by email, then someone rekeys it into payroll. We fix this by configuring the leave engine to your actual entitlement rules and wiring approved output directly into your payroll platform.
When the HR coordinator is on leave, things get missed. Zoho People turns that checklist into a triggered workflow with owners, due dates and escalation.
Right to work documents in one folder, DBS certificates in another. We configure document types with expiry tracking, automated reminders and audit-ready access logs.
When employee data, leave, absence and performance sit in one structured system, reports refresh themselves.
A large share of UK businesses arriving at Zoho People are leaving a platform that costs four to ten times more and delivers capability they never switched on.
| Platform | Where it beats Zoho People | Where Zoho People wins |
|---|---|---|
| BambooHR | Polished interface, very fast to adopt | Cost, configurability, native finance/CRM integration, custom development |
| Breathe HR | UK employment law assumptions built in | Cost at scale, performance management depth, automation, multi-country |
| HiBob | Employee experience and culture tooling | Cost by a wide margin, configuration control, ecosystem breadth |
| Personio | Integrated recruiting, European compliance | Cost, flexibility of leave/attendance, ecosystem integration |
| Sage HR | Natural fit if already on Sage | Automation depth, performance and LMS modules, extensibility |
| CharlieHR | Simplicity for very small teams | Scales past 50 employees, shift/timesheet capability, reporting depth |
| Spreadsheets | Nothing beyond familiarity | Audit trail, entitlement accuracy, compliance evidence, reporting |
Where Zoho People is not the right answer: Under 15 employees with simple holiday tracking, a lighter tool will serve you. If you require native multi-country payroll, Zoho People will need an integration layer. If you cannot commit HR time to a four-week configuration exercise, no HRMS implementation will land well.
There are two costs in any Zoho People project: the licence you pay Zoho, and the implementation you pay a partner. They are separate and should be quoted separately. Zoho People licences are sold per employee per month across a free tier and five paid tiers, with a discount for paying annually rather than monthly.
| Plan | Billed monthly | Billed annually | Typically suits |

| Essential HR | £1.00 | £0.83Save 17% | Employee database, leave management and core HR administration |
| Professional | £2.00 | £1.50Save 25% | Adds attendance, shift management and timesheets. The most common starting tier |
| Premium | £3.00 | £2.50Save 17% | Adds performance management and deeper automation |

Zoho publishes UK pricing in pounds and it is the authoritative source. Zoho Payroll is a separate subscription and is not included in any of these plans.
Pricing verified by Sam, Zoho Solution Architect at Datahikes. Sam signs off the statutory and licensing configuration on every Zoho People implementation we deliver. Figures on this page are reviewed monthly. Last verified: .
Scoping calls are taken by Sam or Jay. There is no salesperson between you and the person who will build your system.

Datahikes does not employ salespeople. The people who scope your project are the people who build it. When you book a call from this page it is answered by Sam or Jay, both founding members of the business. Datahikes is a Zoho Consulting Partner.
Sam leads the Zoho People practice at Datahikes and has more than a decade of hands-on Zoho People implementation experience across the UK, India, the UAE and the United States. He runs every discovery call personally, translates your HR policy into the written configuration specification, and signs off that specification before any build begins.
10+ years Zoho PeopleJay is co-founder of Datahikes and manages client engagement, scoping and SLA delivery. He handles commercial scoping, timelines and the coordination between your HR team and ours. Jay takes scoping calls alongside Sam and stays on the engagement through to go-live.
Co-FounderSai leads technical delivery covering Deluge scripting, API integrations, data migration engineering and custom application development. Where an implementation needs a payroll connector built, a legacy system unpicked, or a custom app to handle a process Zoho does not ship, Sai builds it. He also leads our Zoho Creator development practice.
Technical ArchitectDatahikes is an AI-first delivery team. We use frontier large language models across the parts of an HRMS project that are analytical and repetitive, which is where traditional consultancies burn most of their billable hours. The effect is not a cheaper version of the same project. It is a shorter one, with more of the elapsed time spent on decisions that need human judgement.
We profile the export programmatically, generate a proposed field mapping to Zoho People modules, and surface anomalies such as overlapping employment dates, orphaned manager references and leave balances that do not reconcile.
Your holiday policy, absence policy and appraisal framework arrive as PDFs. We convert these into a structured configuration specification. Sam reviews every line before it becomes configuration.
We generate first-pass Deluge functions and workflow logic from the approved specification, then Sai reviews, tests and hardens them. Code review remains fully human.
We generate the full test matrix from the configuration specification, which means your UAT is genuinely exhaustive rather than a sample.
What AI does not do: Your employee data is never used to train any model. AI is applied to schema, structure, policy documents and logic, not to individual employee records. Every configuration decision, every line of custom code and every piece of client-facing output is reviewed and signed off by a named Zoho-certified consultant before it reaches your system.
The Employment Rights Bill received Royal Assent on 18 December 2025 and became the Employment Rights Act 2025. It introduces changes across roughly 28 areas of employment law and is being implemented in phases, with common commencement dates in April and October, running from April 2026 into January 2027. The provisions apply to England, Wales and Scotland. Northern Ireland is progressing separate legislation.
| Change | When | What it means for your HR system | What Datahikes configures |
|---|---|---|---|
| Statutory sick pay from day one | April 2026 | SSP entitlement can no longer be calculated from day four. Absence data accuracy becomes a payroll accuracy issue. | Absence types reconfigured so SSP-qualifying absence is flagged and calculated from the first day. |
| Zero-hours and low-hours contract reforms | Phased from 2026 | Employers need to evidence hours actually worked and shift notice compliance. | Reference-period hours reporting, rota change audit logging, guaranteed-hours review triggers. |
| Day-one right to paternity leave | April 2026 | Length-of-service eligibility gates must be removed. | Leave policy eligibility rules rebuilt so entitlement triggers at employment start. |
| Employment tribunal claim time limit | 1 October 2026 | Employers must retain a defensible evidence trail for twice as long. | Document retention policy, immutable audit logging, structured grievance/disciplinary records. |
| Gender pay gap and menopause action plans | Voluntary April 2026, mandatory expected 2027 | Structured pay, gender and demographic data required for statutory pay gap measures. | Employee data model extended with Zoho Analytics dashboards producing mean/median calculations. |
| Unfair dismissal qualifying period cut | 1 January 2027 | Probation and performance management must be documented and defensible far earlier. | Probation review workflows with mandatory documented outcomes, escalation triggers before six months. |
Important: Zoho People provides the configuration capability required for each of these changes. None of it is configured by default. Compliance depends on the configuration being built correctly against your policies and revisited as each phase commences. That is what our compliance configuration service covers.
These obligations exist regardless of the 2025 Act, and each one is a configuration decision rather than a feature you switch on.
| Obligation | Source | Zoho People configuration |
|---|---|---|
| Holiday entitlement of 5.6 weeks | Working Time Regulations 1998 | Entitlement rules by contract type, pro-rata calculation, carry-over limits, leave year definition |
| Irregular hours holiday accrual at 12.07% | 2024 holiday pay reforms | Accrual-based leave configuration for zero-hours, term-time and casual staff |
| 48-hour average working week | Working Time Regulations 1998 | Working time tracking, opt-out agreement storage |
| Statutory sick pay | SSP rules as amended April 2026 | Absence types mapped to SSP qualification, waiting-day logic, payroll handoff |
| Right to work checks | Immigration Act 2016 | Document type with expiry date, automated re-check reminders, share code records |
| Pension auto-enrolment | Pensions Act 2008 | Eligibility assessment, enrolment trigger, cyclical re-enrolment reminders, opt-out retention |
Zoho People does not file RTI to HMRC. It is the HR system of record. It validates leave, absence, hours and starter data, and passes that data to whichever recognised payroll platform you run. The value is that the data reaching the platform which does file your RTI is already correct.
You already have a stack. A well-run implementation does not ask you to replace it, it removes the manual rekeying between the parts of it. If finance is already on Zoho Books or sales is on Zoho CRM, HR data joins the same estate instead of becoming another silo.
Approved leave, absence and hours exported before each pay run, replacing manual rekeying.
Validated leave and hours data supplied in BrightPay's expected import structure. Cloud-first for 2026/27.

Working with a UK-facing delivery team from Chennai: Our working day overlaps yours from early morning UK time through mid-afternoon. Calls are scheduled in UK hours. All documentation and training are delivered in UK English against UK employment context. Our UK clients get named consultants they speak to directly, not an offshore ticket queue.
A Zoho People partner in UK manages the full implementation lifecycle: HR policy mapping, system configuration, UK compliance setup, data migration from your existing HR platform, payroll integration, user training and post go-live support. A certified partner also holds direct escalation access to Zoho product teams that a self-implementing customer does not.
There are two costs. Zoho charges a per employee per month licence fee across a free tier and four paid tiers, published in pounds on Zoho's own UK pricing page. Implementation is charged separately by your partner. Datahikes publishes fixed-scope implementation packages on this page, verified quarterly by our practice lead.
Three to five weeks from signed scope to go-live for a UK business with 20 to 150 employees on a single entity. Multi-entity, multi-country or heavily customised implementations run six to ten weeks.
Yes. Employee records, employment history, custom fields, documents, leave balances and performance data all migrate with full field mapping. The critical sequence is configuring leave policies in Zoho People before importing balances.
Yes, and it is one of the most common UK SME migrations we run. Breathe exports cleanly. The work sits in translating Breathe's built-in UK leave assumptions into explicit Zoho People configuration.
Zoho People can be configured to support Working Time Regulations 1998 holiday entitlement including pro-rata and term-time calculations, statutory leave types, Bradford Factor absence scoring, right to work and DBS document expiry tracking, and UK GDPR-compliant records with audit logging. None of this is on by default. It is configuration work.
Yes. Separate holiday calendars are configured for England and Wales, Scotland, and Northern Ireland, and applied by employee location rather than as a single company default.
Zoho Payroll UK, Sage Payroll, Xero, BrightPay, PayFit and Moorepay are the platforms we integrate most often. Approved leave, absence and timesheet data flows through without manual export.
Zoho People provides the controls required to run a UK GDPR-compliant HR system: role-based access, encryption, audit logging, data retention settings and EU or UK data residency options. Compliance is a shared responsibility.
Yes. Zero-hours workers, term-time-only staff, part-time pro-rata entitlement, annualised hours and rotating shift patterns are all configurable.
The Bradford Factor is a UK absence management formula weighting frequency of absence more heavily than duration. Zoho People supports Bradford Factor scoring within leave management. Your thresholds, trigger points, escalation levels and manager notification workflows are configured to your absence policy.
BambooHR has a more polished interface and needs less setup. Zoho People costs substantially less, configures more deeply, integrates natively with finance and CRM, and can be extended with custom development. For a UK business between 40 and 300 employees that wants the system to match its policies rather than the reverse, Zoho People usually wins.
Under 50 employees, one source system and clean data, you can run it yourself using the checklist on this page. A partner becomes worth the fee where you have multiple entities, payroll integration, historical absence data that must survive, non-standard contracts, or an HR team without the capacity to run a four-week configuration exercise.
Yes. Datahikes provides dedicated Zoho People developers and consultants on monthly or project engagement for UK businesses running a continuous HR systems roadmap. You work with named individuals rather than a rotating resource pool.
Yes. Leave approvals and HR notifications can be delivered inside Microsoft Teams or Slack, and calendars sync with Google Workspace and Microsoft 365 so approved leave appears in team calendars automatically.
Yes, the full version of Zoho People is included in Zoho One. For UK businesses already running three or more Zoho applications, Zoho One is frequently the better economic answer.
No, and it does not need to. All UK employers must submit Real Time Information to HMRC through software recognised by HMRC. Zoho People is the HR system of record. It validates leave, absence and hours data and passes it to your RTI-capable payroll platform. The value is that the data reaching payroll is correct, so the submission is correct.
Usually yes, because the two decisions are connected. Migrating HR and reconfiguring the payroll handoff in one project costs less and disrupts less than doing them six months apart.
We deliver Zoho People implementations for businesses across London, Manchester, Birmingham, Leeds, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Bristol, Sheffield, Newcastle, Liverpool, Nottingham, Cardiff and Belfast, managed remotely from our Chennai delivery centre.
We apply large language models to legacy data profiling, field mapping, HR policy translation into configuration specifications, first-pass workflow and Deluge generation, UAT test matrix creation, and training documentation. Employee data is never used to train any model, and every output is reviewed and signed off by a named Zoho-certified consultant.
Zoho People provides the configuration capability required for the Act's system-facing changes, including day-one statutory sick pay, day-one paternity leave, reference-period hours reporting, extended record retention, and probation documentation ahead of the January 2027 unfair dismissal change. None of it is configured by default.
Book a scoping call and it will be answered by Sam or Jay, both founding members of Datahikes. Bring your current HR platform, employee headcount, payroll system and the three things that frustrate you most about your existing setup. You will leave the call with a view on whether Zoho People fits, a realistic timeline, and an indicative figure. There is no obligation and no salesperson.
